Amidst speculations of her husband getting married to another wife, Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Sunday.
She said she returned after fully rejuvenated to continue the work of improving the health and well-being of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians.
A statement by her spokesman, Suleiman Haruna, said that Aisha Buhari arrived 4.30 am at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
“This morning, First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Mrs Aisha Buhari returned to the country after a long holiday in the UK”.
On why she stayed away for so long, a statement by her Special Assistant Media, Olabisi Olumide-Ajayi said: “Before the advent of this administration it had always been the custom for her to take a long vacation with her children but since the President was elected and due to exigencies of duty it has not been possible.
“However this year she decided to break the jinx and spend time with them, especially since Mr President has graciously appointed Special Advisers and Personal assistants to her.”
“On hand to receive her were wives of present and former governors and many associates,” the statement reads.
