Governor of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola would on Monday November 11 present the 2020 Budget Estimates to the state House of Assembly.
Speaker of the state parliament, Timothy Owoeye disclosed this at the Plenary sitting of the house on Wednesday through a letter received from the governor.
Reading the letter, dated November 7, 2019 the speaker said, Governor Oyetola has indicated his intention to lay the estimate before the house in line with the extant rules and regulations.
The rule stipulates that such Draft Budget should be presented to the State Assembly for consideration and approved before the end of the year preceding the commencement of such budget estimates for the fiscal year.
According to a statement by the Head of Information, Laide Lawal, Owoeye appreciated the house members for their understanding, cooperation and support at all times in the collective efforts and desire to build a virile state.
Besides, the speaker also announced the composition of 22 standing Committees of the House with a charge to adhere strictly to the tenets guiding the oversight functions of the parliament.
He tasked the committee members to work in the interest of the public through accountability, transparency and probity in governance, with a view to ensuring that the people enjoy dividends of democracy in the state.
Also, Owoeye at the plenary unveiled the 7th Assembly Legislative Agenda which he described as policies and plans to guide the Assembly activities in collaboration with other arms of government so as to achieve the desire goals for the progress and development of the state.
