Osun State House of Assembly has passed the 2020 budget estimates of N119,550,401,040.
The budget was passed at the plenary on Tuesday following a motion for its passage by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Honourable Taiwo Adebayo.
The approved budget has N61,875,407,050 as capital expenditure, and N57,674,993,990 as recurrent expenditure.
Speaking after the passage of the Appropriation bill, the Speaker, Honourable Najeem Salaam said the Assembly would ensure strict monitoring of the approved items to ensure implementation of the budget.
According to him, the Assembly would not hesitate sanction any government officials found wanting in the course of the implementation of the budget.
He said, this is in line with the commitment of the Assembly to work in tandem with the executive towards realising the development agenda of Governor Gboyega Oyetola administration.
The Speaker then lauded the Assembly members for their commitment by guaranteeing the speedy consideration of the budget.
Governor Oyetola has on November 13 presented the budget, tagged ‘Budget of Restoration’ before the parliament for consideration.
