Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advocated prayers for those in authority and the improvement in the economy of the state and Nigeria in general.
The party in its New Year message issued by the state chairman, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo in Osogbo on Tuesday also advised the people of the state to be law abiding, shun anti-social behaviors.
He warned the people “not to be law breakers but to be law abiding because whatever conditions we are today is not and cannot be permanent since those in power today will spend only four years and if their style of governance is unfavorable to us, another four years is already knocking at our doors where we will have a better choice of leaders to make.
“Whatever the situation we are passing through as human beings at any particular time of our lives is never without the knowledge of God and there is nothing we can do to change it.”
Adagunodo added that the people must remember also that “no man can force himself or herself into power except with the knowledge of God.”
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
“Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
The PDP then promised the people that in a short while they will have a better life under it come 2022 in Osun State and 2023 in the entire country.
According to the opposition party “Good governance under PDP has been experienced by the people and we don’t have to repeat how good it was and if given another chance at the polls, we will still repeat that lofty administration but this is realizable only , if our people can close their eyes to financial inducements on election days and vote the party of their choice which is the surest way of electing leaders with good conscience and fear of God” ut stressed.
