A philatrophist, Sikiru Akerele has on Monday distributed face masks to residents of Ila Orangun in the State of Osun.
Distributing the materials through one Akeem Adeniji, the US-based Business man said the gesture was part of his contribution to the fight against Coronavirus.
“This gesture is not unconnected with the care and love I have for my people and at the same time to complement government’s efforts at combating the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
“Having reliably gathered that a facemask is now being sold as high as N350, which may be difficult, somehow for a common man in the community to afford, especially at his time when everyone was ask to stay at home, I feel it is important for me to do something.
“In the light of this, I take it upon myself to save the people of the community from contacting this deadly disease, as they say prevention is much more better than cure”, Akerele stated.
He then reiterated the need for all and sundry to stay safe by abiding by the rules as laid down by the government to prevent the spread of the disease.
