Islamic Group Organises Scholarship Exams for Secondary School Students

About 500 SSS 3 muslim students on Sunday participated in the 2019 Career Mentorship Program (CMP) scholarship examination organized by an Islamic group, Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB).

They were tested in Mathematics and English Language across five centres in Osun and Ondo States.

The centres include; Oduduwa College, Ile Ife; Muslim Unity Secondary Academy, Akure; Islamic Model College, Iwo; Laro Middle School, Osogbo; and Ede Muslim High School, Ede.

Mr. Fatai Hassan, the Director of the CMP, said, the aim of the programme was to develop the minds of Muslim students by creating a healthy rivalry among them.

He noted that student with highest score in the scholarship examination would be sponsored for WAEC and JAMB examinations while those with 50% and above would also be given awards.

The Chief examiner of CMP, Mr. Abdullahi Muslim said, the examination questions were in accordance with WAEC standard and they are obviously not beyond the capacity of the SSS 3 class, which is a criteria to sit for the examination.

A parent, Mr. Ayodele Adam, commended the organizers for conducting a hitch-free examination.

Adam said he had an assurance that such programmes will enhance the academic performance of the Muslim students.
